is there any software which can tell me what files and registeries r created and where when i install any software?

for eg. , when we install DIRECTX , many files are created some r placed at program files folder, some in system folder , some in system 32 folder etc, so i basically want to find out what files and where these r created?

the latest version of 'advanced uninstaller pro' when kept in 'monitor' mode during an install, records such info, so that in the case of its uninstall, it removes the application completely. but i dont know where such a logfile is stored; u may have to look for it.
