It has been ages, people are using touch screen PDA's and Phones. iPhone is NOT the trend starter.

Do you even know what the term "trend setter" means?

No, you don't.

"Although it’s not scheduled to go on sale until late June, iPhone has already won an award for Product Design. Wired reports that the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, part of the Smithsonian Institution, lists iPhone among the recipients of its eighth annual National Design Awards."

This speaks volumes about Apple's proven design aesthetics. :)

Before asking me, put it to yourself. Trends are NOT set before a product is not commercially available. "Trend" word itself relates to time. Trend starts w.r.t time when people realize it start using it.
