invalid Boot.ini.file Booting from C;windows

i have recently upgraded to win xp from win 98 second edition.during the booting up the above message appears. is there something wrong in it.

kindly advice

boot to Windows XP recovery console by pressring R in bootable Windows XP CD... logon to Windows installation ur ur admin password... then in recovery console... use the command ... fixboot
for more commands use HELP command it wil show all available commands....
Or if u hv access to ny Windows XP PC then in Help and Support Center u can find more abt recover console...

seems ur ntldr is curruptd......try what shekhar says ....if it works fine
else boot in XP look for ntldr.ex_ or some file similer to tat
got Start->Run->CMD->got to ur cd drive -> type expand x:\i386\ntldr.ex_ (x: = ur drive letter )or wat ever the path is in ur root (c: )Dir ......hope it works......
