internet not working

i have compute with broadband intenet

but internet is not working in win xpi hav echeck with my isp
thei connection is working as i can surf he net in ubuntu

i also have ping it is working
its not a problem of web browser
lan card driver is installed and propely working
i have repair the window through my xp cd

i think its a os problem but do not know how solve it

i want some solution before i format the system

Ok, may be you told that it is not a problem of Web Browser but once i had the same problem with my browser actually, the internet explorer was not working and due to this i guess all other webbrowser stopped working. Who knows, just try reinstalling XP(That's what i did)

Just uninstall n reinstall ur lan card driver. m sure it will work(as i had same problem net was working on ubuntu but not on xp)

what firewall are you using?

turn it off & try.

coz many Firewall dont work properly (cause malfunction) under XP (non SP2).

i had this problem on my cousin's laptop, ZAP + XP Pro (non SP2) = no internet, actually ZAP just keeps the internet blocked.
