The Linux Man !
I just downloaded Fedora Core 5.
The entire package has 5 cds + 1 rescue cd
I placed these 6 cds in D drive of windows through following path.
D:/parag/os/
Thus all the 6 cds are present in os directory which is present in parag directory which in turn is present in D drive.
This Drive is fat32 formated

I inserted the first disk and fired #linux askmethod at menu prompt
Then I choose the installation media hard disk
Then I searched my partition in which 6 cds were stored. It happened to be:
/dev/hda5/parag/os/

The os directory showed all 6 cds as well.

But when I selected first disk (Disk #1 of #5).
It exited showing error "Installtion failled"

Where am I going wrong?
Is it something to do with Resce CD.

You need not have the Rescue image at all ...But I don`t think that can cause a problem..Once it ask for the source you can remove youtr cd1.Try if this works ...

Try moving the ISO images to the root of the hda5 (D: ) partition.

I am unsure how Fedora handles installation from hard disk, but if it is asking you for the path of the ISO image, you need the mount your D: drive first, and then access it. /dev/hda5/parag/os is the incorrect path to access a file on your D: drive.
