Would my motherboard really blow up??

As a part of a project, i need to make an model car that draws power from the PC's parallel port. So i want to know, is it safe to use the parallel port cable used for printers for this purpose? How do i go about it?

Tried googling but all i got was confusion.. should i just go ahead with connecting the 5V motor to the data pins of the cable??? or i need to add some extra stuff to protect my motherboard?

What exactly are the chances of the board blowing up?

Also if someone could share their experiences or suggestions or some good links...

Please reply..

Why would you want the car to be powered by the mobo? Wouldn't that limit the range of the car?
Anyways I don't think the parallel port can provide any power. Use a USB port if you must.

A model car of course, a small motored one. Who in his right mind will connect a Reva to a parallel pin and wait for it to show signs of movement in non-earthquake region areas? :p
