Right off the assembly line
Dear Digit readers,
I am having problem in playing DAT, MPEG files on my system
I have updated video drivers, K-lite codec, DivX directX9c
etc.
i think problem started when i installed Adobe premiere Pro
(Trial) from Digit CD, since at that time DirectX9b was installed
so dxdiag reported "qasf.dll" as older file but after installing
directX9c, dxdiag reports no problem.
i have uninstalled adobe Premiere Pro.
Also i have sony vegas 4.0e installed on my system, it plays
Dat,mpeg etc files correctly, but other players play mpeg,DAT
files decolorised i.e. video shows pink, yellow, green over white
backdrop, there is no problem in playing of audio of the video files.
i have tried playing the intro files of FIFA2002 and
CRICKET2004 in Vegas it played it correctly but other players
play it decolorised but the games run fine,
Does it have something to do with the Mainconcept Mpeg plugins?
i don't know what to do.

well courser,
i also dont have a direct solution for your problem
but i want to tell u one thing that its not common with codecs to get f0ked up

this has happened to me earlier too
when after installing a new codec pack i saw the some video were running upside down and some other were running half way shifted to left or upwards .. now the only solution was to completely uninstall all codecs and then reinstall them again

and yes that qasf.dll file is used to processing asf media files
