How to view the video and audio bitrate of a .mpg file?

    Well i use GSpot for .avi files but how to view the video and audio bitrate of a .mpg file?
    Also which is a better quality .avi or .mpg for the same size of the file

    Use AVICodec. Latest version is 1.2 i guess.
    avi has better compression than mpg (or as much as I know)

    Just right click the mpeg file, click on properties & switch to the Summary Tab.
    If you can't see anything, click the Advanced button.
    It will show you the bitrate for audio & frame rate for the video.
