How to repair friends computer over broadband..?

Thanks for everytime's support..

This time my close friend (which lives abt 500 KM from me) hv a critical error in his comp..
He can connect to net.. and I want to see his desktop via broadband connection..

I heard few softwares..which can be used to do so..??
Please suggest me/guide me to Remotely Connect my friends comp..
