I have Original Windows XP Home Edition(Service Pack-2). I think some of the operating system files missing. How to get it using the CD? Step-by-step procedure?

boot from it. and in the setup continue untill it searches and it says that 'Already a Windows Installation is Found' Here it asks you to REPAIR or continue, Select the REPAIR option and it will replace with new files

SFC = System File Checker, It checks and replaces any missing/corrupt file belonging to windows

Type sfc /scannow in Start -> Run and provide the Windows XP CD when it asks.
