How to Find if My Laptop has M.2 SSD or Not

Why does a new laptop even have a DVD drive? It's almost dead. Soon bluray discs will die as well & that will be the end of physical copies.

HP seems to be dumping old laptops in India, just using a newer CPU. I bought a $350 HP laptop last year for an uncle from the US, it had an M.2 slot.

Anupam You are Right.
Buying from us and Buying from India are two different things.

I tried very hard to purchase from US but there was no strong network where i could order laptop. No relatives no friends.

Not sure why hp is still providing dvd drive?
In india we still use dvds (educational purposes and many more ) in budget laptops.

Update (14July 2019)
Hey guys
I visited service center for hinge problem.

I asked them about the M.2 SSD slot. They said this laptop doesnt support it.

I am having three year accidental damage protection plan.
If i add ssd myself warranty will be void.

What could be done in this case.

If there are no stupid "warranty void if removed" sticker on any screws, you should be good to DIY. If not, you can safely remove them and put back together.
What you can do is ask the service center to open the laptop up for "upgrading ram" or some other excuse and then check for m.2 slot. Tell them to open it in front of you though.

Mandatory PS: To OEMs who use such stickers, may your market share drop to zero.

^^I wouldn't risk it especially DIY for someone new after seeing a relatively knowledgeable friend accidentally damaging his touchpad flat connector cable during cleaning of laptop. Also Acer put such stickers everywhere(even inside laptop) so for their laptops it is certain that warranty will be void if not done at authorized service centre. Better to call HP customer care & take confirmation of m2 slot or even try vising a different service centre.

I'm not sure if India has a right to repair law. US has one & companies, especially Apple, is trying to kill it. The sticker is the reason why I try to avoid MSI laptops. They have it in almost all their laptops.

Usually warranty terms is something like user can perform any upgrade but warranty will be void if user damages something while doing so. Most customer care people blatantly lie, especially the ones to talk to via phone, chat or in-person. Ask about it in HP community forums, some HP employee will give you the real thing.

I bought an HP laptop for my uncle which had screws under rubber feet (it wasn't an ultrabook), a scare tactic. But before purchase HP support on phone & chat told me it will void the warranty, whereas in HP forums many mods have stated what I said. I think they are just trying to fool normal people & since forums are used by people who are above the normal population, they try not to fool them as it can lead to some lost sales.

They just want to earn money from people that's it. They will definitely help you, but charge you money as well. Ask them if they will do it for free.

As I said earlier, ask in HP forum:
