How to create a PC to PC wireless network??

Can i create a wireless network with my internal wireless (intel pro b/g) card to which other computers can connect to ...


Can we play multiplayer games over such a network??

yes u can create that. its called an AD-HOC network. wen u connect to a router or access point, etc its called INFRASTRUCTURE mode.

i think ur gonna hafta assign an ip to each pc to be able to play multiplayer games, so u can chek out dis site:

I did connect two laptops over ADHOC by giving them 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2

They are connecting but , i am not able to browse the contents of the other laptop


I'v tried to access the other computer from the windows explorer using ""//192.168.0.2"" , but its not working , I have enabled sharing on the harddrives and added the shortcut to the shared documents folder.............

I cannot see the other computer s contents in the " network places" , I am using XP with SP2


Both the systems are able to ping each other.


Can anyone help me plz ???

yea most prob they are not in the same workgroup

make sure they are, by right clicking on my computer>>>properties

go to the COMPUTER NAME tab n clik on change

also make sure permissions are set right . or be logged in as admin !

ya , i did see your previous post, i got this far by doin what u said there ............i have tried \\192.168.0.1 too............didnt work

what permissions??...................and how do i login as admin??

i jsut asked u what exact error u get

anyways try using \\ip address\sharename directly
put the name of the shared folder directly

being on the same network and same workgroup is different

even if workgroups r diff u can still ping

so make sure the WORKGROUP is same, by doin wat i sed above
