how to connect my pc and dvd player to a single a/v reciever

Help needed

I wanted to connect my pc and dvd player to a single a/v reciever.
so that i can hear sound from both pc and dvd player thru a single a/v reciever on the same speaker system.

See i have a 15x15 room....i m having :-

harman kardon avr130 - a/v reciever
philips625k - dvd player
audigy 2 zs - sound card
JBL SCS 260.5 - speaker system

i need 5.1 surround sound coming from both pc and dvd player.

so how can i connect them.

plz help....

I don't have the specs of your reciever or soundcard, but here's a suggestion.

Connect your soundcard via the single Digital Coax S/PDIF or TOSLINK optical cable to your reciever.

Connect your DVD via analog RCA cables to the 6 RCA inputs on your reciever.

for the soundcard:

1. if i use 50 ft long single digital coax SPDIF or TOSLINK optical cable to the reciever....will it decrease the audio quality ?

2. if i connect mini-stereo to dual rca cable from sound card to the reciever....cables 50 ft long....will it work....will it decrease the audio quality ?
