i want to know how i can detect an external modem in pcq2004.
the modem is a GVC 1156V/R21.
i also need the linux drivers of the modem.
unable to log onto the pcq forums so pls help me.
was able to install the modem in windows.
use wvdialconf to detect and config your modem the command is wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
There are no drivers required for this modem in linux just connect it to the serial port and config it (I hope its a serial modem and not a usb one )
that dont work m8. wvdial needs more arguments apparently.
when i try to compile my internal hsp56 drivers..i get a coimpilation eror...nothing spaecific.wht i get is "compilation eror".what could be the problem?
how do i solve it?
Come on It will work It alwase Works Give it a Try wvdial needs no arguments. Once the modem is detected then you have to edit the /etc/wvdial.conf file to fill in the username password etc. We are talking about and external modem dont mix it up with what you did when you had an internal modem. With internal modems the story is completly diffrent. Give it a try and trust me it WILL WORK.
dude u dint tell me to edit the config file.
will try it now and post in some time.
btw wht do i do for the internal modem problem?
i'm not too sure if the external one will work.it works only half bakedly in windows and i got it mailnly bcos i heard its easier to use one in linux.
external i mean.
wht do i do abt the internal modem?
