Microsoft has changed the default turn off button in the start menu to sleep button in Windows Vista which is annoying..

Is there any way to change it to shutdown?

It is for changing what windws does when you press the power off button on the cabinet.

I want to change the sleep button in the start menu to turn off

What was Microsoft thinking when they made it?!

Yes, this is very confusing. In hurry instead of turning it off, I am clicking on the sleep button most of the time. Please help.

Hi guys I got it

The solution is:

Control Panel.
System and Maintenance.
Power options.
Select your power option and choose "Change Plan Settings"
Click "change advanced power settings".
Maximise "power buttons and lid"
Maximise "Start menu power button"
Click on "sleep" which will bring up options and select "Shut down"
Apply and OK.
