I have regular headphones that I use with PC. Is it possible for me to use the same thing with my TV or DVD player? I couldn't find any port on the TV or DVD player which can enable me to connect my headphones to it. I remember that there were some models of TV available earlier which would enable us to connect our regular headphones to it. When I googled for the converters I found the following thing:

But when I checked with my cousin he told me that we will not be able to get any sound by using this converter and we may have to connect an amplifier. Can someone help me out on this?

Your regular headphones have 3.5mm jack. It can be connected to your Tv/Dvd with the headphones jack on them.

If your tv doesn't have them, then the stereo female to RCA converter should do the job.

Where would I get the Stereo female to RCA converter? Would I get it in any electronic shop? How much would it cost? One more thing I read somewhere that I need to go to the setup of TV and disable the option of speakers then only I will be able to hear it through my Headphones. Is this true?

Someone please give me some advice on this.

Can someone help me on this?
