how 2 connct SATA Hdd 2 laptop...

my old pc(p iV) has SATA HDD.. 200GB.. now i hav a laptop .. how 2 connect this HDD 2 laptop... ?? is USB casing available for SATA.. someone told that it is available only for ATA...plz help..nd what is d price of USB casing...

Yap its available.. atleast in bangalore it available for SATA.. price difference is a margine i think 200 rs

put d SATA hdd inside d casin [comes with instruction manual ]
and join d casin 2 d lappy thru d usb port (or eSATA if ur lappy or casin both support it) usin d cale provided (if sw needed it will b provided, but dont think u will need 1)

it shud b detected as a USB device

are you sure ?? 2.5" Smaller Laptop HDD USB casings which doesnt need external power is about that price... but much bigger 3.5" Desktop HDD may need External power adapter based Casing, and I dont think those are available for Rs. 200, as here at Kolkata some where around 800 to 1200 !!!

if u pay a visit 2 lammy u will find casin available 4 desktop HDD 4 as low as 150 buck
dey sell such things on foothpaths

and if u'd read his post more carefully u'd've read dat he is takin abt price difference & not d absolute price

yap.. in bangalore the transend thing with 1 yr warrenty is 1.5k nearly and looks cool also...locals at 800bk
