HL2 game of year edition problem

hi,i recently got a fresh new copy of HL2(game of year edition) for 1300Rs. The cd is distributed here by World-Wide CD-Roms. I heard that this particular version has some kind of problem while installing.i saw it at a halflife 2 forum. i dont know actually wat it is b'cos i havent intalled the game till now..Can any1 tell me wats all that and let me know the soln 2 it?thanx a lot..
