hmm... may be u should defrag the the OS drive... make sure Page file isnt to big... also clean the temp folder... may be that can help a little...:)

Broken In
After every 2-3 minutes systems stops responding for some time like 30 sec.
It appears as the system hanged. The Zone Alarm shows that its updating.
I tried shutting down the zone alarm but after that also the same happens. I tried seeing the processes but the CPU load is not more then 2% in any except system idle process. But when i try seeing the performance it shoots to 100% and then comes back. Any Clues ?

Try disabling uer uer themes service switch to the classic view...

And you can terminate
spoolsv.exe(if no network printer),
avguosvc.exe(if no avg update required),
mdm.exe(stupid office component),
jusched.exe(java updater not required for atleast a month),
msnmsgr.exe(depends on u),
ctfmon.exe(again a stupid unknown MS component),
msmsgs.exe(network messenger service),
powermenu.exe(i feel a useless tweakui component),
yahoom~1.exe(again depends on u),
iexplore.exe(internet explorer usually eats the most of memory)


and i also suggest using x-rappc to get more indepth details of actuals progs running in back ground.

as i'm experiencing random slow down of PC.
Just now, my PC was struggling, it was un-responsive, the HDD busy light was on for 10 freakin' mins.

at that time, Opera 9.02, Taskmanager, utorrent, were running.

My PC config: HP Pavilion desktop, P4 3.06 GHz, 256MB RAM, Kaspersky Internet Security, ZoneAlarm Pro, AVG AntiSpyware.

Hijackthis.de says - Only a few Hijackers are listed here. The most popular are 'cn' (CommonName) , 'ayb' (Lop.com) and 'relatedlinks' (Huntbar) . They should be fixed.

I.E:
O18 - Protocol: HTLFP - {03B7A5D4-96B0-4316-95F8-072D326A58F1} - ielpview.dll (file missing)

and

O18 - Protocol: vfsp - {E4CB5121-E242-11D4-8ED6-00010219EB22} - VFSProtocol.dll (file missing)

Did Everything listed here... , still pc is running very slow... wait for some more tips after that , will reinstall windows...:(.
But I hate reinstalling it, isn't it bad when you have to install all the softwares again....


and Spirit, what is x-rappc, tried searching on google, but no clue..

well i try another thing if i face such problem... i just change my RAM stick with another PC... some time RAM is a reason for this.. but only way to be sure is trying ur RAM on another system and try puting another RAM in ur PC to see whether RAM is foulty or not... :|

with 256MB dont expect ur system to run as fast as a Dual core one... also RD rams hmm... hard to come by.. try thinking of getting another 256MB stick... :p
