while the post messages are displayed when i turn on my pc, i get some messages i don't have any idea of.its like this :

ddr 333 -> operating in single channel memory mode

maximum memory perfomance is acheived with matched dimms.
installed amount of memory in channel a is not equal to amount of memory
press any key to continue.

there aren't any problems with running the pc though.
i guess this has something to do with my ram.i have two 256 mb sticks.
i'm curious what these messages are.

This means that with the DIMMs that are currently installed, the computer is set to single channel mode but, in fact, is capable of dual channel mode. If you shut down and rearrange the DIMMs properly, you'll achieve dual channel mode.

u can read more abt that here

yup, thats the prob. look into your mobo bookelt to see which two ram slots are channel1 and install your ram modules in those slots. it'll make quite a diff in performance once they start running in dual channel config
