i want to buy a pc
i stuck between the amd and intel ...
my friend says that opteron will perform better than 939x2 processors
also better than core2duo...

please help me in choosing the right one

Opteron are basically server processors arent they? I'd suggest a Core2Duo 6300 or 6600 [budget higher!]

If its for the cpu alone, u can get a hell of a proc. Probably an E6800.
