Help in win XP

My PC config. is
P4 2.8 Ghz with 256MB RAM DDR
I use Win XP SP2
I used to hav norton antivirus 2005
but a message pop up saying can't configure please reinstall norton
so i uninstall it, during it i was infected with 2 viruses from net.
One with Adware.mediapass and other with ....... (i don't know)
When i try to reinstall norton, installation began to fail at the point:
"updating component registration"
i restore registry to a safe backup but still i can't install norton
currently i hav pc clin internet security 2005 updated.
Problem is that certain things are missing from my windows:
1. No restore option
2. No search option
3. No help and support
4. can't run media player 10, even uninstall it but to no use
5. nothing happening at yahoo messenger 7 after signing in
6. Windows update website not opening in Internet explorer 6
Please help.

You can turn system restore on, by the followng method

To turn on System Restore, follow these steps:
*Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
*Click the System Restore tab.
*Clear the Turn off System Restore check box (or the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box), and then click OK.

The other problems you are facing might be beacase of a corrupted version of your windowx Xp Os.

Try a repair option - reinstall of Windows Xp sp2 and get freed from the problem....

i have installed it and am presently using it, its pro, at least thats whats written on it. its working fine for me. however apart from the colour change i couldnt make out anything different or newer than the basic version.

system restore is not off on my system
now even internet explorer is not working
i can install OS myself and once i reinstall the OS as like upgrading OS and end up with a slow poke.
pl tell me how to repair the installation of OS.
i don't hav the cd of win xp sp2
but i hav them both separately
i mean i hav xp cd and sp2 both but not on one cd.
pl help
