help! damn internet!!

    i live in the uae and my always on dsl connection keeps getting disconnected for no apparent reason. is there any software i can use to instantly redial or something?

    Try Changing your modem.

    Maybe a driver problem, or some pre-setting that auto-disconnects after a certain idle time. Check what settings you can and see if thats the case. Else it may be your line itself, the ISP..

    WinXP has a default setting for usb modems, network cards, etc wherein the card is shutdown to save power... Check the setting in Power Management tab of the network card properties (Right click My computer, Hardware tab, Device Manager, double click on network card)... The setting that says like "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" should be unchecked...

    if none other option works & u have no clue whats happening. then u can always format :D ,just joking

    there can be namy resons:
    1) voltage problems
    2)any software unknowing programed to do this
    3)any malware/spyware
    4)Power Management feature turned on
    5)any earthing in phone line
    6)server error-concact Internet Provider
    7)faulty modem
    8 ) Bad drivers
