help 4 config

    i want to buy a pc just for net, music n watching dvds. just basic stuff. wot processor n motherboard shud i go 4. amd or intel? shud semptron 64 2800 b enough? or shud i go 4 intel. my upmoast limit is 8500 4 pro n mb.

    15000 without monitor. if i settle for semptron than mayb i can pinch in an lcd in place of crt monitor.

    i already have a creative inspire 4.1. is semptron better than celeron??

    shudnt i go in for amd 64 3000+ am2. will i get a performance boostup in dis 4 my requirements or shud i go in 4 pentium d + intel d 102 mb

    Then remove the speakers and spend the additional money on extra RAM.

    Sempron and Celeron perform nearly the same. But I'd go with Sempron because it uses less power and produces less heat.

    You could go for 3000+ AM2 but it will increase the cost. Not to mention you need a more expensive motherboard to run the AM2 processor.

    Athlon64 3000+ AM2 Rs. 3900
    Asus M2N-MX Rs. 4300

    i just want to knw will semptron b worth d money or i sud get amd 64 3000+ or pentium d?i hope semptron is not outdated?

    If you can get Athlon64 3000+ it would be great. It depends on your budget. If it's just for basic stuff then a Sempron will be enough for your needs.

    17" CRT Rs. 5500
    17" LCD Rs. 10500

    actualy i m saving bucks on config so tht i can pinch in an lcd. i already ve a 14" crt but it is 9 yrs old

    A 15" LCD would be about Rs. 9000. If you are buying a LCD, get a 17" because the cost difference isn't that much and a 17" is significantly bigger than 17".

    Either way don't continue with your 9 year old CRT. Get atleast a 17" CRT.

    yeah...lcd will be great for your purposes not to mention it looks good to...and about sempron being outdated...well, not really, its just slow......
