I have a HP Laptop with WinXP Home, Hitachit HDD...
For the last few weeks, was getting an error that system.ini file is corrupt and hence it wasn't able to load Windows.
I managed to trace back my recovery discs and ran the diagnostics first -- it gave me the below message:
IDE Hard Disk Drive SMART error: drive (Pri Mst)
Your IDE Hard disk is about to fail. Backup your data and Replace the IDE Hard disk.
Can't anything be done now to fix the disk issue?
Is replacing the disk alone the solution?
