In RedHat Linux 8.0, I connected a USB mouse (with PS2 mouse already connected). It couldn't detect it. From some hardware configuration I changed the mouse from PS2 to USB type. Now none of the mice work in GUI. In console mode (Ctrl+Alt+F3/F4) the PS2 mouse's curser is moving as normal.

Forget about the USB.. I now want to get the PS2 mouse to work again in GUI. Please guide how to bring the hardware configuration wizard & set mouse type back to PS2 by-

(i) using keyboard in GUI or

(ii) giving commands in console

What is the equivalent name of 'hardware configuration wizard' in RH Linux 8.0 as 'YAST' in SUSE 9.1 ?

You need to use from terminal or booting up as single user
Code:
redhat-config-mouse
select ur ps/2 mouse port if asked mostly /dev/psaux..try this and we'll see USB problem after this.Best of LUX
