harddisk problem

i recently installed a new 80 gb seagate harddisk on my computer along with my previous 40 gb harddisk.the new harddisk can only be seen in winxp & not in win98 what is the problem. can someone also plz tell me how to mount it on win98

did u format the disk in NTFS format
this file system is not recognized by win-98

Normally Win98 cannot recognise partitions with NTFS filesystem.I assume its a brand new harddisk which is normally unpartioned and NOT formatted.If u want the new HDD to show in win98 format it using FAT32 filesystem by running WINXP setup again.else use third party software like paragon partition magic.IF u don't want to format it U can mount it in win98 by using third party software from Paragon(Sorry,i don't know the name of the software)
