grub master boot record error

I installed opensuse in my pc having win xp pro. xp is on C: which is primary partition. I decided not to use opensuse and formatted the partition where it is installed using norton partition magic. when I booted, windows is telling error 17. it also tells grub is starting. what is grub? how to boot into xp again. I have already tried recovery mode using xp CD. Please help

Ur MBR is resided by GRUB. Boot with yr Win XP cd, go to recovery console and type fixmbr and exit and reeboot. it will go away...
