Right off the assembly line
I have a p4 1.6 computer.
Details:
RAM: 256 mb
Harddisk space : 80 gb
installed os : windows 98 and windows xp professional

Problems:
1: I am facing problems with running games on my PC.
I lately installed need for speed hot pursuit 2.The intro runs fine, even the menu comes up.I then decrease the graphic settings and keep it minimum, But as soon as i click on Race it stops responding even leading to auto restart!
I installed the game in xp pro and when i restart the xp system informs me that the problem is due to pro savage graphic driver what should i do?
If i need to update the driver plz let me know the download link.

2:I installed Windows XP professional. It takes 1 minute and 10 seconds to load.what could be the problem. And of course no programs are yet installed so there can be no loading problem so what is it ?

Plz help.
Thanks

1. try to off the shadows and make the rendering low. if you make the graphic res'n low with high shadow and rendering, it will act same.
in XP, try to run the game with compatible mode.

abt you pro savage; do you have S3 ProSavage 370or 377 graphics controller in your m/b? as per i knw this is integrates with VIA technologies. if so

but be sure with your m/b before downloading.

for the second question.... i don't have any idea... i have seen many cases about the same problem. first boot its ok, second boot -- takes a time -- installed VGA -- fine ---- installed sound/inf -- takes time -- normal. this is the variation that i have noticed. i have a strange exp that usually my machine takes 5 seconds to boot up but some time it takes 2 mins. don't know the exct answer.
