Secondly, AFAIK this software works almost nil with connection in India and any other country except the US. May be they have made it more global with this release

Its a very old news as it was released many months ago and since they reached their capacity and stopped offering its downloads.

DON'T Use GWA, the reason is, to speed up pages Google caches you usage, and yes that includes your passwords, E-Mails, and Browsing History, into tjeir servers, so any 1337 Google hacker wouldn't have much problem tinkering with your personal data. you're better off with slow speed rather than your identity scattered around Internet.
