google desktop search

i recently installed the google desktop search.
my hard disk has more than a lakh files but the google desktop search has indexed only 48 files. it does not index any file even when my system is idle (i tried it)

Well desktop searched and indexes a limited nos files inclusing .doc, .txt, .html ..other office files ..maybe thats why there are only 48 files indexed..

Well sorry to say but when i said only a few file types are scanned I meant it...
if you dont believe me checkthis out..

thx for da link dude...i didnt know exactly...thats y i sed 'maybe'

it seems like a good util to have....any more like these ?
