getting system error in system32

hello everyone,
i have changes my os from windows 2000 to windows xp because of a system error coming frequently in win2000.
i formatted my c drive and installed windows xp.
after installing norton i scan my computer, it is giving the same error first and then a virus alert in windows and then a message that your ip address is conflicting with other ip adress.and then my system hangs.

failed to understand where the actual problem arise.
can anyone help me plz
do i need to format it again.

if you have a network system change your machine ip adders

for do this
go to control panel and network and dial up
in network right click and go to property and in tcp ip change your ip
192.168.0.? what you want
