My cousin wants to get a new PC and hehas asked me for new config:

AMD 64 bit 3000+/3200+( Which core.....wincchester??? etc etc)
Mobo(with/without onboard graphics options both) depends on other config prices.
Transcend ram 400Mhz 512/1gb (this laso depends on other parts)
120/160gb seagate sata
Monitor(want a LCD but how much it costs???)else 15/17inches which monitor is best.
Cabinet(branded which one???)
DVD/RW no compromise its BENQ 1655(still suggestions welcomed)
6600GT 128MB XFX

CAN ANY1 PROVIDE SUGGESTIONS FO ABOVE CONFIG ALONF WITH APPROX PRICING

I don't think specifying the core will really matter at all ....u'll not get any info on the core unless u plug it in ur mobo and startup the pc .... i think u should get a venice core ..

Mobo ASUS A8N-E without an IGP
LCD monitor Samsung 17" 13,500 OR CRT 17" 6500

LCD suck very low refresh rate i.e response time

they really suck in games

for movies with high bitrate LCD will be good.

Ofcourse you can , just by seeing the serial number on the processor you can know which core it has/

Well to recognise Amd64 Venice Core see that the serial no. is: ADA3000BPBOX (for 3000+) where the "BP" means venice core.

Look for BPBOX if going for venice core and if onboard graphics mobo then go for nvidia 6100 or 6150 chipset MSI K8NGM2 i hav it very good performer oc my 3200 2 ghz to 2.5 ghz.

The Msik8ngm2 6150 mobo is what u canget and is a little better than rs480 also the rs482 is newer model.

if you want to game there is no point thinking below a 7600GT/7900GT or equivalent gpus, cut down anything to upgrade the gpu.

When i have that kind of budget i can think of those giants
But for now i am planninga config for my friend and wnat to knw all options before i sit and pen down components...so if u can....suggest other option..else stick with those GIANTS

XFX 6600GT 128 MB.............7500
XFX 6600GT 256 MB............11000
