its tough choosing a gaming rig with that budget. I thought I could suggest the Dell XPS series.

Otherwise you can get an assembled one....
One advice, wile choosing a video card, select 256MB ones and make sure they support OpenGL, antialiasing and the usual stuff.
Also make sure you get a core 2 duo processor. The others are your options.

What do you think about the MSI motherboards. They are great! Palit has nice performance according to a digit review i think in the April issue.
