Just for discussion, AMD Sempron 64 3200+ is Rs. 1100/- and MSI K9AGM2 is Rs. 2400/- total of Rs. 3500/- and full 3 years of warranty !!!

please reconsider your price, if possible...

So ??

to be exact its a socker 939 Athlon 64... though 939 got an update to 512 MK l2 but as its out of warranty so i assume its the older 256MB L2 model...

Or even if its the 512 KB model, still Sempron vs 939 64 single core...

I quoted a price for over all mobo + procy... Do you think Athlon 64 939 + A8V-VM SE would performe better than Sempron 64 AM2 + K9AGM2

anyway, its sellers decision, we can just comment only !!!!

lol - This big a discussion and I was not aware of it..
The Sempron is a budget processor and just that! :D

If you are looking at gaming, just forget the semprons!
Here's an old link I dug up ...
I also found that the L2 Cache on the Sempron is half that on the A64. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I do have a Transcend 1GB DDR400 RAM also to go with this (fresh from RMA)
Offer me a good price for the combo and I'll let it go :)

What's that mean?
U mean a SEMPRON AM2+ can beat ATHLON 64?
Let me correct ur facts dude!
The "NEW BUDGET PROCESSOR" aka Sempron is nothing but a socket change from 754 to AM2+

But there's no performance difference between them!
Because they have still same amount of Cache and specs
I can take the good ol Athlon 64 over Sempron any time!

see the entire combo first. your old Athlon 64 and the new Sempron 64 are similar in performance. Infact, I have even seen Semprons of the current generation winning against P4 processors. but there is still the fact that the new Sempron 64 has warranty, and yes, it does have an edge over the old athlon 64 if you take cheeta's combo. In simple words, you need to price your processor under the sempron if you want to make your ware a sensible buy.

if its for that perpose, I suggest you go for Cheeta's Sempron + Mobo combo for 3.5 K and add *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78782 to it. Else just buy his mobo+ram_proccy and throw in that 7200GS in it.

The total cost of buying a basic combo today is just Rs. 6000/- if you bargain well.
And while you are at it, check this out too: *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78542
