Human Spambot
My cousin wanna buy a desktop, this is his first PC purchase.
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Well any thing which an user will do when he/she first purchases a PC, browsing, little bit of MS Office stuffs, this & that. No heavy work, that's for sure.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 25000 rupees (might be extended slightly)
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Absolutely NO
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7 x86 or x64
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 500/750 GB
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes. Full HD I guess. 22"
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Don't understand this query!
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Within a month.
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: He hasn't, I have :-\ But as I don't touch anyone else's PC other than mine, the assembling will be done by somebody else!
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Calcutta. Online is the priority here. Not paying extra by buying from local stores.
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: As I said at beginning, this is his first rig. He never played any games, and I don't think he ever will. Neither any hardcore nor CPU extensive work will be done. I guess 4 GB RAM will suffice for that? Also a decent cabinet, I am thinking Cooler Master entry level cabinets.
Motherboard should be a good one, I mean not expensive, just you know, not very cheap.
And in that budget I'm guessing i3 is the only option? Or i5 is possible? No GPU needed, on board graphic should suffice (then again I might be wrong).
And forgot about PSU. What is best bang for buck? Seasonic? I have lost faith in Corsair.
And the most important part, ONLY INTEL.
Thanks.
