Iam new to FireFox, but I found it really cool when I started using it,

however I have certain doubts

1) I created a folder in Bookmarks, where I added links to my favourite

pages so that I can access the pages just by clicking the page without

having to type the entire URL. But when I click resp links in bookmarks

folder nothing happens.

2) How can I make sure that whenever I click a link or type a url, that

particular link is opened in a new tab rather than a new window. It

irritates me when I click something and a new window opens, Ctrl + T is

also boring....I want someting like Opera.

3) I want to get rid of the URL history, it does'nt look good when I

type a letter and find a long list or urls starting with that letter.
URL history should get deleted either when I close FF or manually when

I would like it.

Go on Tools-->options-->tabbedbrowsing and click on the options to make it open in a new tab.

And regarding the first one, it works for me no problem...

Just Right click the Bookmark and see the properties, i bet the webpage link is missing. Just add those links manually and that shoul be it

Download the Tabbed Browser Prefrences from the firefox site. Heres the link:
*addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&version=1.0&os=Linux&id=158
Then go to tools options tabbed browser prefrences and select the prefrences u like.

For manually opening new links:
1. Type the url in the address bar and press alt+enter
2. For opening links from a site ctrl+click OR right click and open in a new tab

Go to
Tools --> Options --> Privacy --> History --> Clear.
Set the no of days to keep to 0 day if u dont want the it to save history.

Just use ur brains mate. The tweak has been copied from a website where it has said all to be in boolean. But where we can see it in integers make those integers. Got this tweak running sice long time. Just excellent

I generally save my mails and intresting web pages while I browse net, and later read them offline. With FireFox I am unable to do that, I save my mais and when I double-click my mails I get 'mail.yahoo.com could not be found .Please check the name and try again. I had no such probs with IE, help me out guys coz I am in love with FF and I want both me and FF live peacefully forever!!

how can i use DAP with firefox..... i mean how can i make DAP catch the download file links......
No u got to manually add download links. You could use the flash got plugin to have download accelerators set for FF, but unfortunately it dosent support DAP. Better get GetRight. Free & Supported by flashgot.
