failure to boot in windows

hi , i have a p4 2.6 ghz pc with 512 mb RAM with both linux and xp (prof)
managed by LILO. Recently i suffered from a power failure while booing
windows., After that when i start windows XP after the disk check i get the
following error displayed.
stop:00000218 (registry file failure)
system root system32configsecurity or its log or alternate c.

When u installed lilo did u write it to mbr ... if so try reseting the mbr ..
or else delete the partition for linux using dm(disk manager) ...

You can do this if you boot from the cd.. you have the cmos set for first boot device from ide "x" to cdrom ..

He can boot into windows.
So it seems his lilo is workin fine.
Maybe some windows system files got corrupt
due to the power failure.

i think the problem i swith the registry ... so try to overwrite the backup of uer registry.. or try pressing F8 and boot with last best config .. a stmt meaning last working condition ... Try tht..
