hi,

how can i get this type of output in excel cell. eg Rs. 12,34,567.00. have tried all the means. the steps that i have done is

control panel->regional options->in currency tab selected the digit grouping to 12,34,567 format.

then i have applied it. after that when i try to make the display to show me in this format then it just goes the old way of 123,456,789 way.

currency symbol is irrelevent. $ will also do.

where am i going wrong.

Hmm.. Check if the this option is set or not. If it isnt, then enable it :
Excel > Tools > Options
Click on International Tab
Enable Use system seperators
OK

Now try ..

[>9999999]"Rs."##,##,##,##0.00;[>99999]"Rs."##,##,##0.00;"Rs."##,##0.00

If you want to go beyond Rs.9999999, add before the above more cases. For eg,
[>999999999]"Rs."##,##,##,##,##0.00;
and then the rest.

2)Select currency.
3) Select curreny type in Format drop down menu.
