did he install steam ???
Steam is the content delivery system of Valve. The idea is to have your games anywhere, anytime you want without having to carry the CDs alongwith you. It is also touted as an anti-piracy measure.expertno.1 said:what is steam ?did he install steam ???
enoonmai said:Hmm, thats a very good start. A lot of people seem to be having problems with FX 5200 cards and the 77.72 drivers. Try rolling back to the 71.xx drivers, say 71.89. That should fix your HL2 problem in addition to letting you play your FIFA 2005 game without any trouble.
enoonmai said:Please post more information on your previous settings. The information you have supplied isn't enough to think of a solution. What were the previous settings (Resolution/Effects/AA/AF, if any, etc. and all that) that you were trying to run the game from? What are the new settings? Your video card, the FX 5200 is one of the bare minimum cards that is required to run HL2 and you may probably be setting something that your card can't support.
@kunwar: Is this the original copy of the game? I've seen that message mostly only with pirated copies of the game, which try to bypass Steam, like the Vengeance emulators. Please confirm that you are using an original copy of the game.
my friend told me that there is no need of installing steam.
