limewire pro is paidware whereas emule is free. Moreover ED2K network is the richest source of files with varied interests (it hosts some very rare files too).

I really want to use some p2p software. I have winxp sp2 with firewall enabled and am able to unblock access for the p2p software but i am connected to the internet only through a http proxy . If i set the proxy type to http or http connect in utorrent, the error is proxy server is actively refusing connections. The proxy server by the way is analogx. Any suggestions on workarounds or any other software.

I dont think torrents would work with a proxy since they need active open ports on your system..

limewire has too many fake files. emule doesnt have so many (or none) fake files. emule is a better option.

emule is built on the edonkey 2000 network. it hardly makes a difference if u use emule or edonkey (except speed and stability of connection).
