EA hosted an interactive event for Indian gamers, where they got to try their hands on some of the most awaited games of the year.

EA also announced four new holiday blockbusters, including 'Need for Speed Prostreet', 'Army of Two', 'Crysis', and 'The Simpsons Game'.

'Need for Speed ProStreet' will be available in November across all gaming platforms, while 'Army of Two' and 'Crysis' are slated for a Winter launch. 'Army of Two' will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360, while 'Crysis' will release on PC and 'The Simpsons Game' will go multi-platform.

During the event, fans of various gaming genres got an opportunity to try out their favorite genre -- be it sports, action, thriller, or shooting, with EA showing demos of new and old titles including 'FIFA 08', 'NBA Live 08', 'Skate', and 'Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08'.

According to the company, 'FIFA 08' is dramatically more real and exhilarating, with 620 licensed teams, 30 official leagues, and more than 15,000 players. It will debut on Xbox 360 and PS3 sometime this month; while 'NBA Live 08' will release shortly across platforms.

'Skate', promises an experience closest to real life skateboarding without having to actually place one's feet on the skateboard. The game will also start shipping this month both for Xbox 360 and PS3.

'Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08' for Xbox 360 and PS3 has an interesting feature, wherein the player gets to create real faces of created characters using digital photography.

In addition, EA also announced the arrival of 'Orange Box', a pack of five action games from Valve, including 'Half Life 2: Episode Two', 'Portal', and 'Team Fortress 2', in addition to full versions of 'Half Life 2' and 'Half Life 2: Episode'. 'Orange Box' is also expected to be available this month for Xbox 360 and PS3.

And, all new game titles will be priced at Rs 999 for PC, Rs 1,999 for Xbox 360, Rs 2,499 for PS3, Rs 999 for PS2, and Rs 1,499 for PSP.

Orange Box has already been released in the USA and maybe even other markets.

999 for PC titles seems to be an excellent move by EA. We may just see people buying games legally for once.
