DVD writer GON BAAAAAAD!!!

Right off the assembly line
i have a sony dw - g120a and it takes very long to write 8x disks. It's supposed finish writing in 13 mins, whwereas it take more than half an hour to do so. What do I do??? And btw how is a sony dru dvd writer different from dw g120a?

There are various reasons for this to happen
Some of them are:
1)Lack of memory - While writing don't run more programs.

2)If the source content is in Harddisk means more "Fragmentation" may cause this problem.
so if necessary means de-fragment that drive and try again.

3)One more cause for your problem may be your settings for that drive . Check whether it supports DMA if so enable DMA and try again.

i have the dq-120a and it burns 4 Gb of data at 16x in less than 6 minutes and at 8x it takes less than 8 min

Had a similar prob wit my SONY DRU 720A.Crossflashed it to a Liteon SOHW 1693S and havnt had any probs after dat.Ur drive is rebadged Liteon DVDRW SHM-165P6S.To crossflash it just vist :

Download the firmware and crossflash.
