I just got a gaming magazine called rage. I got a free dvd with movies on it.
When I try to play the movies on my dvd drive I can only watch the video but get no audio. Any solutions guys?

There are 2 folders on the dvd. One called audio_ts & the other video_ts.
Now the folder video_ts has a lot of files with the extns *.bup, *.ifo, *.vob
but the audio_ts folder is empty.

well usually that audio folder is empty
well all i can say is try changing the language
settings for that particular movie in your dvd player(software)
or even try the audio settings

Ok..so its a standard DVD v r talkin about:

I guess this should work........

Normally DVDs have 2 or 3 audio streams encoded in AC3(Dolby Digital) or DTS.

You will not be able to play the DTS on a PC. So in the audio selection in WMP or PowerDVD, select AC3(Dolby Digital)....NOT DTS

As far as AC3, it can be 2 channel/5 channel.

If PowerDVD is configured for the wrong speaker setup, it does not play the audio, if u have a 2 speaker system, enable stereo in PowerDVD Audio settings.(It works for all kinds of Speker configs.)

:? Actually, to answer ur question in more detail, i'll need to know about ur speaker config., the sound card u r using, DVD software, AC3 filter u r using, etc.

If the above solution, does not work, gimme the above details........
