If a DVD Player isn't able to run any DVD but is able to run every VCD, then where may be the problem?

The lense is gone.. Take it to a service center..

There may be some reading error by the LENs circuitry. Get it check by a professional.

But...VCDs run nicely, then also lense problem....Does these Players have different lleses for different discs or what? The Its not in warranty period, and the shop keeper says the repairing cost Rs 1650, I bought it in Rs 3000, How I afford to do this.

Yes.. There are different lenses for CD and DVD.

First try to clean the lens by using Lens Cleaner CD/DVD. It may solve your problem. If not, don't fiddle with it and take it to an Auth. Service Centre.
