DRIVES not accessable from floopy boot !!!!!

I tried creating a bootable floppy by formatting it with the create ms-dos startup disk option , welll.....


it did boot ... but the harddisk and cd rom drive were not accessable when i tried accessing them from the dos prompt


so what might be the problem ?

anything wrong with the floppy drive controller ?

why is not accessing the hard disk and the cd rom drives

i could access them on my friend's computer with the same floppy!!
do i need to change anything in the BIOS OR something !!
PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!

u cannot access the cd rom thorugh that traditional floppy drive boot

try to use the win xp cd to boot ..it will access

Have u created a Bootable floppy in Windows 98.
Whenever u boot with that floppy, u get 2 options:
1. Boot with CD-ROM support.
2. Boot without CD-ROM support.

Which OS u use???????

i have used XP to format the floppy and i am talking about the hard disk not being accessable from the floppy boot , not the cd-rom folks common ,....
now tell me why this is happening .....

if u have NTFS then the floppy which is based on ME as far as i know will not read it...
u need to have a nero boot disk to do that...
