recently my pc became very slow and after every restart it asks for checking all my drives(all are NTFS only)...

after some time checking the drives, the system is running continuously at the same command " inserting an index entry into index $0 of file 25"...it seems like it struck at same function.

next time i skipped all CHKDSK's of all drives and found out that my D drive(NTFS 20 gb) partition has been corrupted....

So I thinked why not try the chkdsk. I issued chkdsk command with
chkdsk /r flag but the comp hanged.

Why don't you try a recovry program like Recuva - its free - there might be better ones but I really don't know - haven't had the need to use one -thankfully. Btw, can you access the drive from my computer?
