1st of all i would lke to thank the forum members for helping me to get me a
best config for my pc...

i got some doubts regarding HW plz clear it ..

1. WAT IS diff b/w AGP and PCI ...

2. INtel runs at 3.2 Ghz clock speed and AMD 3200+ At 2.2 Ghz
even though many prefered me AMD

3.Does a POWER ful SMPS makes some difference?

4.diff b/w
PEntium D775,2x2MB L2,3 GHz, 800 MHz- Rs 17000
or
pentium D 830 LGA775,2x1MB L2,3 GHz,800 MHz -Rs 15400
both are same then y a lot of price diff and which is better and tel MOB for this

5. amd athlon 64 x2 3800+ (2.0Ghz, 2*512kb l2 cache)
this will cost 15k + wats the specaility of this AMD DUAL CORE
6. in wat way the heating up affects the performance many said here
intel heats up but amd is cool but process is faster on intel and slower on AMD...
I AM NOT fan of both i have no idea which peroforms better,,,,

i will get my PC on saturday...so i am bit worried in choosing b/w two

No pain....No gain
1. AGP offers more bandwidth (rate at which data is transfered) than PCI so better performance. But if u r talking about PCI-E the new slot for gfx card then it offers more bandwith than the AGP slot thus currently PCI-E is best in term of performance and future compatiblity.

2. AMD has this hypertransport thing which enables the cpu to diretly access the system memory, whereas intel cpu's have to go via northbridge. In other words u could say that the amd northbridge is built into the cpu thus resulting in better utilization of clock cycle and better performance.

3. Yes a good SMPS does help in system stability and performance. Remember all the components are delicate thus require a good and clean supply of power, if this isn't the case then it could even damage ur pc components. Buy any good brans such as ANTEC, POWERSAFE etc.

4. No idea about the performance difference for the intel D775 and D830 so can't comment.

5. Its a dual core processor thus there are two cpu physically present. Its like having two 3200+ cpu in ur system. So better performance.

6. That's right AMD runs cooler than their counterpart but that scenario may soon change when the intel conroe core comes to the market. But at present AMD rules. See performance of a cpu depends on the kind of work u are trying to do with it. So for gaming go for AMD (no doubt here) and for video editing and rendering stuff u could go for intel. But remember that the AMD dual core will perform equally in both gaming and other stuff.

So I would suggest u go for AMD X2 3800+ but remember to get the Manchester core. See the box for serial no. : ADA3800BVBOX

1>AGP port is Accelerated Graphics Port/PCI is Peripheral Component Interconnent.PCI slot is for slower expansion cards like moder, sound card etc.AGP slot is for faster graphics cards...

2>Actually MHZ/GhZ is not every thing.AMD Athlon64 FX60 (2.66 GhZ) killed Intel Pentium Extreme Edition (3.8).In processors many things are there such as the the cache, archetecture etc.And also the speed at with it is used also matters like or Hyper Transport etc..

3>Yes a SMPS does affect a pc.If ur system is underpowered then it won't perform as it should..

4>see this link *reviews.cnet.com/4520-10442_7-6389077-2.html?tag=lnav

5>In the above link u must have seen who is the winner

6>Yes if ur system overheates then it might become unstable, may restart etc.

Go for AMD Athlon64 3800+ X2/4200+ X2
