"Imagine this: A reputable security company releases an eternally-free, "enterprise-class," anti-malware engine that doesn't waste CPU cycles, or otherwise molest your machine. Windows users rejoice that they can surf without fear of PTM (Porn-Transmitted Malware), and they line up to buy the company's other, for-cash, products.

A national holiday is named in honor of the 'firm that saved the internet'."

...and then it was found that it was an impossible-to-uninstall adware, or worse.

i installed comodo av few days back , because i was impressed with its firewall and wanted to try their other pdts too, but it was a total disappointer , it took a lifetime just to scan my c: and had crippled the memory too, i immediately uninstalled it but i didnt face any issues while doing the same, nor are any backgnd processes running as i confirmed it with hijackthis , shuld i do anything else also to ensure that its gone ???

I totally agree...apart from it's great virus detection capabilities I like the fact that it is very light on my sys resources. I also like the cool audio/music warning msg that notifies you of a potential virus attact.
