Directx problem

when i try to install fifa world cup 2006, installer says i have to install directx 9.0c. i chack that i already have directx 9.0c april edition. i try to install it from game dvd , but the problem remains the same. then i search for directx uninstaller from the net and found a trick in which i have to delete the reg entry of directx and i did it. now directx is not unistalled and not showing its version in dxdiag box. i have try again to install it but nothing happen. the same problem i have faced with nfs most wanted (i have to format my windowsxp sp2). now i dont want to format my windows drive and also not want to waste rs. 1500. please someone help me
i have latest version of drivers of all the components for my system.

my system--
intel p4 3.0 ghz ht
intel mobo d925xe
4*512 mb ddr2 (533 mhz) ram
xfx 6800 gt

ya ea installer is faulty.same happens to me.
heres a trick thatll work if u r lucky:
change tha compatibility mode of the installer to win 2000.
it worked for me

i have read about the trick but i want to know if there is anyway so that i can correct the directx reg entry which i have deleted

@ sagar,how do u do dat,please tell me briefly dude i have the same problem and so im unable to play the latest games.
